The sense of community would be worthwhile if that was the only benefit, but that is just the beginning. The real power is not the “feeling” of community, but what can be accomplished by the community, working as large and small networks of like-minded people who pull together because they want to, choose to, are interested and motivated to do so. We believe there is more potential for missions in these grass-roots networks than in everything else missions has adopted out of management textbooks over the last three decades.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all human beings are born with equal dignity and worth, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights: to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; to the sharing of community; to a rhythm of worthy work and shared rest that frees time for family, neighborhood, citizenly service, and spiritual reflection; to a life-sustaining share of the earths abundance; to peace among all peoples; and to a responsible relationship amidst the whole web of life upon this planet.

Kanottar - located near Nal Sarovar - the fascinating Flamingo Island, render the state of Gujarat a virtual haven for wildlife buffs; in Bavla taluka, Ahmedabad district, around 60 kms east, or 2 hours drive from Ahmedabad is a dream of Vishwa Parivar Foundation, the newly adopted baby to be nurtured.  The Village is nestled at nearly --- feet above sea level. Its unbelievable fact that even after 50 years of Independence, Village like Kanottar lacks government conveyance facility. To catch a government bus one has to move out around 6 kms to the highway or 15 kms to Bavla. While the health facility is highly poor. Government’s PHC is 6 km away and the village lacks a private practitioner. How you can be helpful?

OBJECTIVES :

VPF’s objectives for Kanottar are not limited; but slowly and steadily we want to uplift the village and make it a real Indian dream village, maintaining its dignity, its cultural heritage. Invariably, they are very backward in terms of development and access to basic amenities.

  • Assessment of potential overlay village, which would guide development's architectural treatments, materials, signing and landscaping.
  • Development of streetscape plans which will improve the overall visual character and impact of the Village.
  • Development of public open space areas specifically along the lakefront and within the central Village area itself.
  • Assessment of different methods of providing the Village area with a "sense of entry" and feeling of arrival.
  • Assessment of a variety of methods to improve overall vehicular and pedestrian circulation.
